Cheese, pepperoni, sausage, vegetables or even pineapple are all great toppings on a pizza. Nothing can top one Michigan woman's pizza order after she discovered she won $2 million on a scratch-off.
A Macomb County woman, who chose to remain anonymous, was waiting for her pizza order when she decided to scratch off a $2,000 Large lottery ticket that she recently purchased from a local liquor store. Thinking nothing of it , she revealed the prizes, the Michigan Lottery said.
“My husband is usually the one who buys scratch-off tickets, but I decided to stop and buy one on my way to pick up pizza,” the woman told lottery officials. “While I was waiting for my pizza, I sat in my car and scratched the ticket.”
Scratching every prize box on the ticket showed that this not-so-frequent lottery player was a top prize winner.
“It was surreal when I realized I’d won $2 million,” the woman said. “I called my husband to tell him the big news because I was so excited. I couldn’t wait until I got home!”
The Macomb County resident brought home the oven hot pizza with a side of $2 million.
With her winnings the woman said that she wants to pay some bills and take a vacation, the Michigan Lottery said.
The woman claimed $1.3 million in a one-time lump sum payment instead of and annuity payment for the full amount, the lottery said.
